The low, flat roof of this coach, coach lamps, body-colored inserts on the landau bars and an S&S chrome grill crown are all hallmarks of S&S Victoria model hearses. This is a commercial glass funeral coach which means that the windshield and side windows are all taller and larger than passenger-car glass. To do this requires a nearly complete restructuring of the car aft of the dash. The special rear-wheel drive B9Q Cadillac Fleetwood coachbuilder chassis was lengthened by 31 inches.
In 20U Light Montana Blue (which was a Cadillac color but not a Fleetwood color) with lower bright chrome rocker moldings, this hearse has a dark blue elk-grain vinyl 3/4 top and a #30 medium blue leather interior. Behind the divider etched with the Sayers and Scovill logo is the casket compartment lined with the same medium blue velour. There is no visible radio antenna on this car. S&S has hidden the antenna in the landau area with the landau irons. Power comes from General Motors' 5.7 litre LT-1 engine. The wheelbase of this S&S funeral coach is 151.5" with an overall length of 21'4". The height of the coach is 5'5".
This 1995 Sayers and Scovill Cadillac Victoria Funeral Coach originally served the Allen Funeral Home in Bloomsburg, PA. The original MSRP of a S&S Victoria hearse was just above $70,000 and 61 Victorias were built in 1995. The Victoria was the most expensive hearse available from any manufacturer. It truly is The Best Money Can Buy.
We purchased this hearse in July 2014 from Mr. Charles White of Galatia, IL, with about 21,000 miles on the odometer.
