~Dennis Goethe What is a "Professional Car?"A PROFESSIONAL CAR is a specially modified vehicle based on a car chassis that is (or can be) used in funeral, livery, or rescue work. This includes hearses, combination coaches, limousines, flower cars, first-call cars and service cars, and car-based ambulances. Professional cars are really the last vestiges of American custom, built-to-order vehicles.
What's New?![]() 1978 Ambulance.
My latest acquisition in late summer 2011 is a 1978 Superior Cadillac high-top Ambulance. See the pictures and read about it its life history on the Ambulance page.
And, The Goethe Collection @ SeeMyCars.com website is completely new! New look, new pictures, new information; in otherwords, everything! Feb. 2012. Pictures have been added to the horse-drawn hearse page. late March, 2012. | Where Do We Keep All These Cars?
I am fortunate to have built a 4,800 square foot Coach Haus in 2004. It's more than just a garage, it's a museum. There are miniature die-cast collectables, ads, posters, pictures, and funeral artifacts on display too. There's even a huge working church organ! The Coach Haus is located near downtown Pacific, MO on 3rd Street. Check it out on the Coach Haus page.
More Than A Century of History!
My collection spans 113 years to be exact, from an 1898 glass sided McInnis Brothers horse-drawn hearse to a 2001 Eureka Lincoln Diplomat 6-door funeral limousine. The oldest motorized vehicle is a beautiful, unrestored and oh-so-rare 1937 S&S Byzantine carved-panel hearse. In between are vehicles from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s! There are hearses, combination cars, limousines and a Cadillac high-top ambulance. They all run, are driven, and enjoy the quiet life of pampered retirement!
